A broken garage door is about as fun a root canal or a colonoscopy. One car is locked in the garage, the other car is locked out, it's a 100 degrees in the shade and it's 4 o'clock in the afternoon. What to do ? In short, after a few minutes on the internet, we call Precision Door Service. Not only did they send a service tech within the hour, they replaced both springs on my 30 year old 16' insulated door by 6 o'clock. Amazing. My technician, Chad, was very professional and extremely personable. He went over all the options and what items needed to be replaced, and why. After replacing the broken parts, he adjusted all of the door opener settings to insure that the door opened and closed correctly. The total price was reasonable and fair. Garage door would not open and I noticed the broken left side spring. Searched on computer for service specialists nearby. Precision had an impressive site with a huge amount of positive reviews. He arrived when he said he would and inspected the problem and offered spring choices. Both springs were replaced, door adjusted in about an hour and I was able to go about my business. So I bought this house six months ago it was built in 1972 I believe they change the garage door once 30 years ago. I came home for lunch drove in my garage and when I push the button to close the garage half of it fell off the hinges. I called around to A few neighbors and two of them gave me precision number. I called some other numbers as well and no one could come out the same day next week they’ll call me back. Etc. etc. etc. I called precision and the woman said she’ll have a technician out there in 20 to 30 minutes. Alan came in 20 minutes. Very professional easy to talk with explain what needs to be done in lay terms. He gave me a couple of estimates. Gave me time to think it over and call my dad. And we came up with a plan. Replaced spring and cable for the garage door. On time arrival, surveyed what work to be done. Inspected the status of the garage door as well as the unit for garage door opener. Noticed that the railing is all bent (probably) the cause of the broken spring. Advised to open and close garage door manually vice using wall mount garage door opener or hand held opener. Advised also that since the unit still is under warranty to call the manufacturer for replacement of the rail. Nate Lewis was very thorough in his assessment of the task and then some. He explained to me what work to be done in order to have an understanding of the job itself. Very thorough and meticulous in what has been tasked. Definitely if and when another door garage maintenance or replaced, I will be without hesitation recommend Precision to do the work.
